Festering Dirty Secret

Bartow County Animal Control

Advertised as “a unique blend of country charm and international sophistication”… But behaving as a slaughter house for thousands of animals, Bartow County doesn’t have the Sophistication or Sense to get an Effective Shelter Management Company in Place.

40% Kill Rate

According to a Report issued by Georgia SPOT Society Bartow County Killed 40% of all animals in their charge last year.

1,848 Animals Killed in 2015 in Bartow County.

Unsanitary Conditions

No policies in place to decrease likelihood of disease outbreaks. Rescues offered a proven system of sterilization, a 400 page manual, utilized in other successful shelters, free of charge.  Bartow County Said NO.

No Vet Care

No vetting is done on these animals, no wellness checks, sickness checks, vaccines, deworming…

Sickness, including Parvo, Calcivirus, and upper respiratory infections, is rampant.

No Public Adoptions

Public Not Welcomed.  No Adoptions Offered.

No Animal Reclaim

There is “no list” of lost animals reported to BAC.  No way for BAC to tell the family their pet is their custody.

If they don’t look themselves, everyday, there’s a 40% chance their lost pet will be euthanized.

No Foster Programs

No effort to foster animals until rescues or homes can be found for any animal.

No Low Cost Spay/Neuter

Unwanted animals is the largest issue in Bartow County.  No Effective Low-Cost spay/neuter programs in place.

No Volunteers Allowed

Public Not Welcomed.

Rescues Offered:  Give us information on all animals in custody – let us know what animals are there so we may try to get them home, rescued or adopted.

Bartow County Said NO.

County Administrator and Member of Cartersville-Bartow Chamber…

As County Administrator Peter Olson is responsible for removing county government from the power of the political parties, and place management of the county into the hands of an outside expert with the hope that the county manager would remain neutral to county politics.

Neutral or Apathetic, Peter?

Bartow County is Killing 40% of the Animals in Their Charge.

Can We sit down and talk about how we can lower that number?

Anheuser-Busch has been a part of the Bartow Community for over 20 years. General Manager Rob Haas said in 2013 being “good corporate citizens” is something that drives the plant off Cassville-White Road.

Anheuser-Busch has a Community Outreach Program in place. Since 1997, Anheuser-Busch and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation have contributed more than $515 million to charitable organizations.

“Charitable outreach is at the core of Anheuser-Busch’s business philosophy. Together, we can make a difference.  They’re Our Neighbors. Our Responsibility.”

Neighbor…We’d like to discuss the 40% Kill Rate at Bartow County Animal Control. Will you stand by us to reduce The Numbers…
